Benrather Coude Mit Leidenschaft restauriere ich, auch in Kooperation mit 4h-engeneering/Jena, Teleskope und alles an Technik was für die astronomische Forschung dient. Von "kleinen" Teleskopen bis hin zu großen werden diese schützenswerten Geräte professionell instandgesetzt. Alles wird mit Bildern dokumentiert. Auch Umbauten für z.B. einem Goto-Betrieb sind möglich und zwar so, das sich das Ganze ins Gesamtbild einfügt und nicht auffällt. Inbusschrauben haben an einem Vorkriegs Teleskop halt nichts zu suchen.

I am passionate about restoring telescopes and all the technical equipment used in astronomical research, often in collaboration with 4h-engineering/Jena. From ‘small’ telescopes to large ones, these valuable instruments are professionally refurbished. Everything is documented with photographs. Modifications, for example to enable Goto operation, are also possible, carried out in such a way that the changes blend into the overall design and are not conspicuous. After all, Allen screws simply have no place on a pre-war telescope.

Ein Museum hat andere Ansprüche als eine Vereinssternwarte, die das Gerät auch mit Besuchern nutzen möchte. Die Optiken werden hochprofessionell überarbeitet, um das Maximum herauszuholen.

We discuss with the customer the extent to which the restoration should be carried out. A museum has different requirements to a club observatory, which also wishes to use the instrument with visitors. The optics are refurbished to a high professional standard to ensure they perform to their full potential.

Vergolden Nicht jedermanns Sache, aber der Kunde ist König. Damit die Messingteile nicht jedesmal poliert werden müssen, hat sich der Kunde für das anschließende Vergolden entschieden. So glänzen die Teile dauerhaft.

It’s not to everyone’s taste, but the customer is king. To avoid having to polish the brass parts every time, the customer opted for gold plating. This ensures the parts retain their shine permanently.
